Last time we talked we discussed the amazing craft beer selection available to us in The Corridor. By now I am assuming you know what The Corridor is (Yorba Linda, Anaheim Hills, and Placentia). One of the premier breweries in the area is called Bottle Logic. Today I am writing about one of their finest beers that could be found at various establishments this last weekend.
Side note: I thoroughly understand that if you are a beer snob reading this article is probably beneath you. I would never assume that my beer knowledge is above yours. However, I must add say that most people talking about beer speak confidently about things they don’t know. Yours truly included!
Back to the fine beer readily but limitedly available right near us the last week or so. Fundamental Observation! No, that is not an introduction into my next sort of ok point, but rather the name of a fantastic bourbon barrel aged stout from Bottle Logic. Believe it or not, this beer is world renowned and was available on draft at Out of the Park Pizza and even across the street at Craftsman Wood Fired Pizza. The fact that Fundamental Observation was available across the street from one another says two things to me.
First, it speaks again to the availability of great craft beer located in The Corridor. Second, it says that Bottle Logic is interested in distributing some of their rarer beers to a wider audience, and I for one say yes and amen. Fundamental Observation is the kind of beer that introduces a whole world of beer to even non beer drinkers. You wouldn’t think that a bourbon barrel aged imperial stout would be approachable for non-beer drinkers, but when the vanilla notes hit our lips it’s delicious.
